The Challenge

The Byke needed a secure software delivery capability that would stop vulnerable code and third-party dependencies from reaching production. Its existing CI/CD pipelines lacked integrated security testing, mandatory policy enforcement and centralized visibility into application security findings.

The need became urgent when a known-vulnerable open-source dependency was found in a production workload. The Byke engaged AxiomIO to implement a DevSecOps platform that embeds automated security controls throughout the software development lifecycle and establishes consistent governance across every application release.

Our Solution

AxiomIO designed and implemented a standardized DevSecOps platform built on AWS CodePipeline and AWS CodeBuild, so every application is built, tested, scanned and deployed through one consistent, centrally governed process.

Security testing runs as mandatory pipeline stages on every code change: secrets detection, static application security testing (SAST), software composition analysis (SCA), container image scanning and dynamic application security testing (DAST). An AxiomIO policy engine evaluates the results against The Byke's risk thresholds, and builds with Critical or High severity vulnerabilities are blocked unless an approved, time-bound exception exists.

Findings from every scanner are normalized into the AWS Security Finding Format (ASFF) and imported into AWS Security Hub through a custom AWS Lambda integration, giving the security team one view of application risk across the whole portfolio. A pipeline security dashboard shows every build's outcome, why blocked builds failed and the vulnerabilities found in each build.

Results

The implementation established a standardized, secure software delivery capability across The Byke's application portfolio, replacing manual and inconsistent security practices with automated, policy-driven controls.
